All three of Us have been feeling under the weather lately and the haze around Singapore makes it getting worse. Whenever I feel sick, this hot drink recipe always soothe me. Its relax and warm the body. It’s also reminds me of the drinks I always had every time I finished a Spa session ( OH I need that too)
200 gr ginger peeled and bruised
2 lemon grass bruised
1 gula melaka ( palm sugar ) about 100 gr
500 ml water
Put all ingredients in a pot, bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
Turn of heat and place into two cups and serve immediately
Cap chay is a Chinese dish that means Mixed veggies stir fry. This dish is very popular and its a must order food if you go to Chinese restaurant in Indonesia . I grew up with this dish, I think its the easiest way for my Mom to made me eat veggies. It’s very tasty, colourful, healthy and easy to make. Best to eat with steamed white rice.
You can put any veggies you like and add chicken or seafood such as squid or prawns for your liking if you want more merrier taste.
1 Carrot sliced
1 small bunch cauliflower
100 gr Green beans
100 gr baby corns sliced
200 gr Bok Choi
100 gr Shitake Mushrooms sliced
100 gr fishball
1 small onion slice
2 cloves of garlics minced
5 cm of ginger minced
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp corn starch disolved with 2 tbsp of water.
1 cup chicken stock/ water
Salt & paper to taste
Heat up veggies oil in a wok. Add the Onion first, wait until it become translucent and add the garlic & ginger, fry until their fragrant.
Add carrots, green beans, baby corns, Shitake mushrooms Saute until they are soft, and add oyster sauce and soy sauce. Lastly add the fishballs and stir fry for few minutes.
Drizzle the sesame oil to add more flavour
Add chicken stock or water, and let it simmer for a while.
Add the corn starch mixture, and stir until the gravy is thickened
Remove from the heat and put on serving plate. Best serve while its hot with steam rice.
When it comes to breakfast, I usually want to eat something light. I can not eat heavy food after long break from sleep. The problem is if I eat light breakfast, by mid morning my stomach already scream for food , and that is not good. One of my favourites fulfilling breakfast recipe is Kale Omelette with feta cheese. Super easy and quick to make. You can replace the Kale & feta with any veggies and cheese of your choice, but whenever I have the option of Kale in the fridge, I always go for it. Why? it’s full of Vitamin A & C, has powerful antioxidant, and also calcium! talking about full and complete breakfast folks!
Kale Feta Omelette
1/2 bunch of Kale ( remove the stems and chop to small pieces)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbs olive oil
7 small cubes of feta cheese
Whisk eggs with garlic powder
Sauté the chop Kales with olive oil on medium heat about 1 minutes
Pour the egg mixture wait 1 minutes, add the crumble feta cheese and ease the edge of the egg and flip to cook the other side.
